Please join live session on how can we implement CERT-In Directions dated 2022
On 28th April 2022, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issued directions using sub-section (6) of Section 70(B) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. This is rarely used provision of law which attracts one year of imprisonment or Rs one Lakh fine or both for non-compliance. It implies that the government is very serious about it and apparently the compliance has got to do with national security after learning cyberwar lessons between west and Russia.
There are following six directions:
1. Synchronization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Systems clocks
2. Reporting of Cyber Incidents
3. Cyber security mitigation actions when required by order/direction of CERT-In
4. Enabling log retention
5. Register subscriber/customer information
6. Maintenance of Information obtained as part of KYC
